The programme is a multi-agency partnership, in which the charity works closely in partnership with Greater Manchester Police, Sport England and Bury Council to deliver the scheme. The sessions, offer young people between the ages of 14 – 16 the opportunity to engage in sport and physical activity rather than in activities such as hanging around on the streets which many local residents find intimidating. The Bury FC Youth Club is a great place for boys and girls to meet new people in a safe and welcoming environment. Our fully trained staff are on hand to help encourage creativity and friendly competition. Activities include arts and crafts, multi sports and mini competitions and tournaments During 2019, the sessions will run for 50 weeks of the year delivering football, cricket, dance, basketball and many other sports and activities. Through the Premier League we are able to offer Girls Football sessions providing a safe and enjoyable sessional for girls aged 11+. These sessions give girls the opportunity to partake in the countries fastest growing female sport. What We Offer: The projects is strategically targeting females to engage in football activities, aiming to increase participation and decrease drop off rates in the women’s game. To achieve this we currently provide three main types of activities to the community, School/college sessions, our development sessions and developing our grassroots girls teams. To get involved in these sessions contact our Project Manager. School/College Sessions We currently work with several school across the borough to offer their female students an opportunity to try a girls only football related activity. We offer, Soccercise, Futsal and Football sessions. All our sessions are coached by our experienced Level 2 coaches who have undertaken various CPD around the female game. We run fun and dynamic sessions that can cater of all girls needs and ability levels. All these sessions are completely free of charge to the school as these sessions are fully funded and support by the Premier League. Not only can schools benefit from tailored session onsite but we also hold girls football tournaments for your year 7/8 football team that you can enter for free and have the chance at representing Bury FC in the EFLT Girls Cup. These sessions are the first step onto our female player pathway which starts from school football sessions and lead to our unique development centres and onto our very own grassroots teams. Development Sessions These sessions are designed to support and develop female participants who are just getting into football or who are wanting to improve their skills. We believe these sessions are the key stepping stone that is sometimes missed between schools and clubs Our development centre is currently delivered at PlayFootball Bury, on Monday nights 5pm-6pm. These sessions are Free of charge to any female for 11+. All our sessions are coached by our experienced Level 2 coaches who have undertaken various CPD around the female game. Grassroots Teams Alongside the above coaching sessions girls have the opportunity to progress through to our grassroots girl’s football teams within Bury FC Boys & Girls, where they will have a variety of opportunities to play and train at a competitive standard.
